2 Rare 2 Compare

Two girls playing on the playground. One is athletic the other is artsy. One has blonde hair the other has brown hair. One has dark skin the other has light skin. One is bold and the other timid and oh how the list could go on and on. They are so beautifully different and such beautiful friends. But one day the thought creeps into their heads, how much they love the others hair or ability and personality more than their own. And that thought leads from one to the other and begins to create insecurity. Comparison is a dark lie we buy from the evil one who is out to destroy us.
The Bible says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV
He knew us long before we were ever here and put lots of thought into each one of us, yet we all look at one another and think how we wish we were more like that person or looked thinner or were smarter. God's given us each or own unique qualities for all the right reasons. If we were more like someone else, we wouldn’t be us.
Psalm 139:14 NKJV says “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.”
Wow! How beautiful would it sound if we spoke these words to the One who made us each morning?! But instead we gripe and complain on these very qualities, because clearly the Creator of all the universe doesn’t know what He’s doing and made quite a few mistakes when it came to ourself. I’m beginning to realize all the things I nitpick about myself are not actually making me more humble. It’s actually false humility when someone says, “Wow, you’re so good at ...” and I say, “Ewww, No! not me!” We should say thank you not because we did anything but because The Lord has! “My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.”
Psalms 34:2 NKJV
Did you know that there are no two snowflakes alike? If God can put that much thought into something that falls from the sky and then melts shortly after, how much more did he put thought into us who would one day prophesy to the nations?!
Let’s start A new trend and boast in The Lord because He is perfect and makes no mistakes! I can guarantee that if we began to do this, our confidence in Him would grow. I’m not saying go around in haughtiness and tell everyone you’re a beautiful woman. But when looking in the mirror and you’re feeling self loathing, then exchange those thoughts with, Wow God you are so beautiful, allow me to see me as you see me. He will begin to transform your thoughts towards yourself and you will then start to walk as a daughter of The King, which you so rightfully are! Remember you were fearfully and wonderfully made by a Creator that makes no mistake! You were made on purpose for a purpose!
To God be all the Glory!
Kimmy- this is such great insight and wisdom! Thank you for your willingness to be used for God.
I love this! God really has made us so different for a reason.
